Situated 300 meters high overlooking the Mediterranean, only 20km from Paphos. This is the latest 18 hole championship course to the island with challenging greens and breathtaking views.
Sitting amidst olive trees, the 234-hectare Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Golf Resort is regarded as being the most exclusive leisure, golf and property development in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Located on a beautiful plateau overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, the resort's geography enhances the feeling of being close to nature.
Golf enthusiasts will be attracted to the World Class 18 hole golf course, the largest on the island complete with a 3-hole golf academy and clubhouse.
Its land extends over two olive tree covered slopes on either side of a rugged ravine. This entwined with architecture designed to compliment the natural surroundings creates a unique setting for a unique resort.
The Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Golf is designed around a 'village square', which forms the heart of the complex and provides extensive shopping and entertainment opportunities. Cypriot taverns located there will serve the island's best cuisine.
Located 18km east of Paphos near the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite. It lies in a scenic valley with grand trees and beautiful natural rock formations all round. 18 holes of championship golf in spectacular setting.
Unlike Aphrodite Hills and Tsada golf clubs which occupy much hillier terrain, secret valley as its name suggests is mainly flat and largely protected from the prevailing winds and usually a few degrees warmer.
Secret Valley itself is a well ordered kaleidoscope of colour, thanks to a abundance of bougainvillea, azalea, myrtle and numerous other flowers. These decorate the tees, fairways, greens and walk ways in between the grand conifers and lovely palm trees that give this course its golfing shape.
Currently, there are 18 holes at Secret Valley, a par-71 course which measures 5,904 meters from the back tees. The owners however plan to build a further 18 holes in the next couple of years in order to cater for the growing demand for golf in Cyprus.
Many of the existing holes at Secret Valley are a pure pleasure to play, especially the 345-metre par-4 5th which slopes and doglegs gently from left to right through an avenue of tall trees towards a raised green protected by the golden white sand of its front bunker.
The 18th, a 493-metre par 5 is a genuine three shot hole which also sticks in the memory long after it has been played. Augmenting the golf is a rural Cypriot-style clubhouse with a restaurant, bar and terraces which overlook much of this scenic course.
Other facilities include a driving range to the left of the 10th fairway, a video teaching centre two practice putting greens and a well stocked pro shop.
Tsada Golf Club
Tsada is set in the grounds of a 12th century monastery in a gentle valley. Situated on the outskirts of Paphos on an altitude of 550 meters above sea level ensuring cool breezes during the summer months.
Location - 20 minutes from Paphos Town
Tsada which opened in April 1994 is the oldest of Cyprus’s three championship golf courses. The creation of celebrated course designer Donald Steel, it is situated in a fertile gently sloping valley some 550 meters above sea level about a 15-minute drive north-east of Paphos just off the main road to Polis. A Par-72 layout measuring 6,060 meters from the back tees, Tsada consist of two loops of nine holes with many of the fruit trees, grape vines and conifers planted during Tsada’s initial development. Now reaching maturity thus giving the course excellent definition.
Most of the fairways are sloped, placing an emphasis on accuracy rather than long hitting. One of the unique features of Tsada is the 12th century monastery that sits at the far end of the course by the 7th tee helps to promote an air of timelessness and romance. Indeed, to this day a monk is still resident on the site and is regularly to be spotted in his garden. The signature hole at Tsada is probably the par 3 14th, a thrilling shot hole which is played from an elevated tee across a ravine to a green cleverly positioned on the side of a hill.
The par 5 17th, which measures more than 530 meters, is another hole which sticks readily in the mind with its winding fairway and a meandering stream that comes in to play three times. Over the road from the clubhouse golfers can limber up for their rounds on a full size driving range practice on a putting green, a chipping area and a video coaching service supplied by the resident PGA professional.
The club house is warm and welcoming in atmosphere, plus also has a bar, restaurant and tennis court. While the sleepy nearby village of Tsada is the ideal retreat for golfers in search of a quiet break or traditional cuisine.
