What is Coasteering?

Coasteering originated over 100 years ago when early climbing pioneers traversed rocky sea cliffs - now it's proving to be THE ultimate coastal adventure!

So - if you've 'been there, done that' with white water rafting and bungee jumping - you'll find coasteering the Cyprus coastline provides a new and refreshing slant on adventure!

Kitted up in a wetsuit, helmet, buoyancy jacket and a pair of trainers you get the chance to explore Cyprus at sea level - you'll find yourself swimming into sea caves, climbing up through natural rock arches, flinging yourself from towering vertical rock faces, and perhaps even swimming with Atlantic grey seals!
Whether the sea is flat calm and reflecting the suns rays like a mirror, or raging and boiling as the waves pound the cliffs base, a superb coasteer can be guaranteed, with the emphasis on cliff jumping, wave dodging and rock traversing shifting according to the conditions; no two coasteers are ever the same.

Parascending and Paragliding

Parascending and Paragliding at its best, is the art of soaring like a bird above the countryside or sea without a care in the world, the true spirit of freedom and adventure.

Often the Paragliders or parachute is launched using a Landrover, winch or boat, using different types of parachute for different purposes.

Many of our sites offer self launching with easy flying and landings, and offer flexible courses tailored to suit the individual, whether a beginner or the more experienced.

What is Parascending?

Parascending is the basic tow form of paragliding? Although the teams now have winches and can tow Paragliders as well as ascending canopies.

Apart from just enjoying the flying, Parascenders take part in target accuracy competitions. It is normally carried out on very large fields or airfields.

First flights can be carried out towed on 100 or so metres of rope behind a landrover. These flights are usually with a basic round canopy and are controlled entirely by the vehicle driver. After being towed across the field the canopy and pilot are brought gently back to the ground. These flights will generally only be a few minutes long. Pilots may then be taught to release from a longer rope and land on their own. Flying square canopies means more forward speed and comes with more experience.

Parascending is a great team activity that is non-competitive and gets you outdoors and high above the earth to enjoy some marvellous views. The wildlife birds, animals and plants on an airfield - is quite amazing too. Flying and parachuting are held in high esteem and everyone thinks you are very brave and adventurous so you get a lot of kudos from taking part! As it is weather dependent there is the understanding of weather and forecasting.

Quad Biking

Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking in Paphos and Cyprus generally is relatively new. In fact, so much so, that it is only in the last couple of years that people have been aware of Cyprus as a superb destination for all types of biking and we are now beginning to see cyclists from all across Europe come to enjoy the facilities we offer. As well as the rental of all types of bicycles, we offer a range of organized and bespoke bike rides, suitable for all ages and abilities. We have detailed below, some of our most popular, that are suitable for most people. We also have a range of rides for absolute beginners wishing to spend just an hour or so exploring Pafos, as well as a range for the more seasoned rider wishing to push themselves on some VERY tough climbs and technical rides. Please contact us for details of any other type of rides you do not see here and we will happily arrange something for you. Remember, our minimum group size is just TWO!

Ride Olympus

We collect you at 8 o'clock and head for the ski club on Mt. Olympus. At 1951 meters the highest point in Cyprus offers breathtaking views across the island and the surrounding Mediterranean Sea. Our bike mechanic unloads the bikes from our trailer and gives them a final safety check while you receive a route briefing from one of our cycle guides. Once every one is ready we start our descent of Olympus, back to Paphos. Our cycle guides lead the group with our support vehicle following at a discreet distance.

Whether you want to ride at high speeds or take your time and enjoy the scenery and take photos, one of our experts will be with you to ensure safety and fun. We then head off road for a 12 kilometer forest section between the villages of Troodos and Platres. Enjoy great forest trails and breathtaking mountain scenery on this exciting section. Again, our experts will ride at the pace you choose. At Platres, we stop for a coffee before heading down to a valley descent that offers fabulous views to both the summit of Olympus and the Pafos Forrest. Midday brings us to a friend’s farm where we enjoy our lunch under fruit trees while admiring the surrounding scenery. It's not all down hill!
After lunch we ride a gently undulating valley trail back towards Paphos, through goat farms and remote villages. Our support vehicle is following so stop where you want to be picked up or ride the rest of the way with our cycle guides. It's really up to you.

Explore Akamas

We collect you from your hotel at 8 o'clock and drive the group to the remote village of Ineia, high in the Akamas National Park. Our mechanic prepares the bikes while you receive a route and safety briefing.
Our cycle experts will then ride with you through Ineia and the surrounding villages to study the work of the Leona Project here, designed to rebuild many of the buildings destroyed during a large earthquake 10 years ago. These beautiful, remote villages were once the hub of Cypriot life and have barely changed in centuries. It is not unusual for us to come across donkeys being ridden to work in these villages! After exploring these timeless settlements and chatting to friendly villagers, we leave the roads to head towards the Western coast at Lara. On the way we spend time studying and discussing some of the ancient agricultural practices still used in the farms that we now encounter on our descent to the coast. If we happen across a farmer at work he is likely to proudly show us his huge number of goats or insist we take as much fruit from him as we can carry. (Luckily our support vehicle is on hand to lighten our load).

After our off road descent we reach Lara, not only home of nesting female Green and Loggerhead Turtles but one of our geology research sites. We will show you how the turtles nest on these beaches and also some amazing local geology that will change the way you look at Cyprus. After an exciting time at Lara, we cycle further along the coast track in time for lunch. We stop to eat at 'Viklari', a great taverna situated high on a cliff top, amongst banana and date groves, over looking the coast. After lunch, a short walk into the Avakas Gorge completes the day. We can date this limestone feature quite accurately to the Pleistocene era due to the presence of certain rock types and features. Not only geology here! Giant fruit bats, reptiles and birds of prey in their pure setting can all be seen too. And the whole day is at your pace.
